There are a lot of ideas that float around that we take for granted. But they where not always commonly accepted. Before there was the American Revolution, there was Cato’s Letters. One of these letters was called “Of Freedom of Speech: That the same is inseparable from publick Liberty”.

Hard as it is to believe, back in the day this is what passed for an op-ed.
