Diary entry for 8/4/09 (Good Doggy Style except for the spelling and grammar)
My first job for the day was to get a mouse for the control room computer. I found it laid out on the floor across the path I normally take when I first come in on the morning. One of the guys on the 12 to 8 shift has weird ideas about how to get a request in.
Strictly speaking, the task of getting a mouse fell to my Alter Ego. I was just a pack mule in the whole exchange. Still, it was the first thing I did that can be construed as work.
I did my normal rounds. In the process of doing my rounds, an electrician noticed that I was not in a good mood. It is always annoying to run into people like that. Most people don’t notice what kind of mood I am in and generally I prefer it that way.
With people I notice I have be careful to act as if I am in a better mood then I feel or answer questions about the cause of my bad mood. Either course of action takes more effort then I want to expend first thing in the morning.
My mood is not helped when I call the sales manager for the magic wireless controls I want to get. (more…)
