    In regards to your videos, I did not know the Amish allowed themselves to be put on video. I wonder when that changed…..

  2. I didn’t realize that but I mostly post them for you to see anyway instead of email/FB messenger.

    A lot of the Amish still don’t; that’s something he talks about in some of the videos. In some videos he isn’t allowed to show them in camera (they talk off-screen only) and/or he’s had to suddenly cut scenes because someone there wasn’t comfortable. The Amish generally obey the rules of their local church rather than some kind of bigger structure, so different churches have more or less relaxed rules, but even within a given church some are more or less comfortable with it.

    There’s a pretty good chance most of the people he’s talking to are more liberal Amish (some are even Mennonite that are former Amish) because of this, although part of that is my selection bias as I found the ones they weren’t allowed to be on camera as interesting.
