You will not understand why I chose The Future by Leonard Cohen to be this week’s poem of the week unless you read this week’s essay. The Future is quite different then most of the poems that are normally chosen. In connection with the essay of the week, it is worth noting that Cohen has generally been more popular in Europe then in the US.
