Rant of the Week: 2/11/07-2/17/07
The Ape man is so excited that he is frothing at the mouth in this week’s rant. We think that he might be going a little over the top, but we are afraid to tell him so.
Essay of the Week: 2/11/07-2/17/07
In some quarters it has long been argued that the North should have let the South leave the Union. We have been assured that if that had been allowed to happen slavery would have died a slow death and much bitterness and bloodshed would have been avoided.
But in this essay, “Spengler” argues that South would have spread slavery throughout the southern hemisphere if they had not been stopped by the Lincoln.
Poem of the Week: (2/4/07-2/10/07)
The poem of the week has some relevance to the essay of the week as is our custom. But the relevance is lost in the twisted maze of the Chieftain’s head.
Rant of the Week: (2/4/07-2/10/07)
In this rant, Spengler goes after modern art. Actually this rant is long enough to be an essay, but we shall term it a rant because it takes as much skill to attack modern art as it does to make it; which is to say, no skill at all.
Nonetheless, Modern Art needs a good kicking now and again and Spengler supplies one.
Essay of the Week: (2/4/07-2/10/07)
Our essay this week is not an essay properly speaking. Rather it is speech by Abraham Lincoln. It seem only fitting that as Lincoln’s birthday approaches that we should give him some space on our blog to defend himself against those who would argue that the South had every right to seceded. It would do well for people to listen to Lincoln’s own defense of Union as the South prepared to rebel before they make up their mind on the matter.

Essay of Week (1/28/07-2/3/07)
The general theme for this week’s picks seems to be things that bring tears to Chieftain’s eyes. We happen to know that he has read this essay several times and he still has tears in eyes by the time he reaches the end.
Japanese Foot Juggling Acrobatics
Watch this japanese guy kick the other Japanese guy around. It’s a riot!
More seriously, I wonder about how you would train for something like this. I gather from other videos and things I’ve read that they practice with inanimate objects beforehand. Still, everyone makes mistakes, and in this case the mistakes must hurt a lot for the guy getting thrown around. What kind of protection do they wear?
