This week’s essay of the week is “A Tale Of Two Depressions” by Barry Eichengreen and Kevin H. O’Rourke. It is a very interesting essay, but one has to wonder at their claim that the policy response this time around has been better. The evidence from their own essay does not seem to support that idea at this time.

So torture is all right as long as you have a court warrant? It seems to me that if this was done to extract a confession everyone on the left would be screaming bloody murder.
