Essay of Week (1/28/07-2/3/07)
The general theme for this week’s picks seems to be things that bring tears to Chieftain’s eyes. We happen to know that he has read this essay several times and he still has tears in eyes by the time he reaches the end.
The Futility of Debate….
In this post, Jane Galt bemoans the fact that people in abortion debate are imputing motives to their opponents. In response, Ape man bemoans the fact that even if they perfectly understood their opponents it would not make any difference.
Japanese Foot Juggling Acrobatics
Watch this japanese guy kick the other Japanese guy around. It’s a riot!
More seriously, I wonder about how you would train for something like this. I gather from other videos and things I’ve read that they practice with inanimate objects beforehand. Somebody has to wage war against the little problems in this life. Otherwise they shall multiply without ceasing. In this rant, Dr. Bob does his best to rally the crowds against such evils as the traffic situation in supermarkets and fun sized candy bars.
Essay of the Week (1/21/07 to 1/27/07)

But as “Spengler” demonstrates in this week’s “essay of the week” that does not stop Hanson from being willfully blind to the lessons that history offers.
“Spengler” published this essay a year ago, but it still stands as a valid rebuke to those who believe that we can cure the world’s ills by spreading democracy.
Prada and Fashion Phobia
The Wall Street Journal, ran an artical entitled Prada vs. Prada: Overcoming Fashion Phobia. I found it interesting. For one thing, I had no idea there even was something called Fashion Phobia, and I certainly didn’t know that Miuccia Prada, the grand ol’ fashion designe herself, has had it.Click Here to continue reading.
