Lately there has been a lot of panic among some about “China” abandoning its support for the treasury market. Other people have been saying don’t worry, we are doing just fine with out China so we don’t need foreign support. Both groups are wrong.

People are going to get very angry.

Essay of the Week: 3/21/10-3/27/10

The Joint Operating Environment is the US military’s assessment of the threats facing the US in the next 25 years. It is nothing profound, but it is a more realistic view of the world then you usually get from the government. If you are intimidated by the length, just read the first two parts (excluding the introduction). That is where most of the good stuff is.

Essay of the Week: 3/14/10-3/20/10

Alvin Plantinga has been described in by some secular sources as the foremost orthodox protestant Christian philosopher of the current age. We don’t mean that to be a commendation, but we do think it is worth getting to know that man a little more. It is interesting to see what the secular world understands as being the best that orthodoxy Christianity has to offer.

So here is what Alvin Plantinga calls his “Spiritual Autobiography.” It is a little out of date, but I don’t think too much has changed in regards to his world view.
