Responding to War Crimes Allegations: Interview with Ryan O’Leary of Chosen Company
Of course he says he is innocent but the New York Times does not have a good reputation anymore and he does make claims of fact that should be provable one way or another. More to the point, Preston Stewart is again acting like I wish the media would and letting someone say their side of the story. If there truly is legal action filed, it should become apparent pretty quick who can prove their point. But from Chosen Company’s point of view, a lot of the damage has already been done and can’t be undone.
The Conspiracy of Silence to Protect Joe Biden
This would not be worth its own post if it was not for the fact that this is appearing in one of the primer publications of educated liberal elite. The fact that this is being allowed to appear the New Yorker magazine is something that Biden is not going to recover from….
Who was actually in charge? Nobody knew. But surely someone was in charge? And surely there must be a plan, since surely this situation could not endure? I heard these questions posed at cocktail parties on the coasts but also at MAGA rallies in Middle America. There emerged a comical overlap between the beliefs of the nation’s most elite liberal Biden supporters and the beliefs of the most rabid and conspiratorial supporters of former President Trump. Resistance or QAnon, they shared a grand theory of America in 2024: There has to be a secret group of high-level government leaders who control Biden and who will soon set into motion their plan to replace Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee. Nothing else made sense. They were in full agreement.
The entire article is sticking the knife into Biden and twisting while trying to be as kind about it as possible.
A Strategic Overview Of The Conflict Between Iran and Israel
As Iran/Hezbollah and Israel head towards a conflict that neither of them seems to want but neither of them seems to be able to avoid, it is worth stepping back and taking a look at the overall strategic picture between those two warring parties. Because of the high emotions that surround this conflict, the reporting is particularly bad regardless of which sides reporting you get. In a world that grows ever more divided, the Israel and Iran conflict still stands out as one in which it is particularly hard to get a dispassionate analysis. For this reason, I think it worthwhile to review basic facts that tend to get forgotten in the high emotions that surround this conflict.
The fundamental problem with most analysis of the conflict between Iran and Israel is that it often reduces the conflict to one of mutual hatred. Iran hates Israel and Israel hates Iran and so they fight. Therefore, the people talking about the conflict pick a side depending on their tribal preferences and hype up the conflict as if it was a sport’s game that both sides were trying to win. What this type of analysis misses is that both Iran and Israel draw benefits from the existence of the other even as they hate each other. To understand this paradox, you must look deeper into the strategic factors at play then is normally portrayed in your average news story. Continue reading

Reminder of Popular Russian Sentiment On Nukes
I am not saying that the below clips represent how all Russians think. That is hard to tell how many people really feel this way in Russia when its media is controlled. But I think the below clips represent a significant proportion of the Russian population even if it does not represent the majority.
